Write for us

Vibrant County Report welcomes thoughtful pitches about the customs, crafts, foodways and shared occasions that shape county life. Send proposals through the Contact page; a clear idea and a well-defined subject make it easier to assess a pitch.

What we welcome

We are interested in concise explainers, comparisons, cultural histories, thoughtful examinations of common assumptions and pieces that help readers notice a subject in a new way. Pitches should stay close to lived culture and avoid presenting one person's experience as everyone else's.

A useful pitch

Tell us the working title, the central question, the main point a reader will take away and why the subject suits this publication. Include a brief outline and any relevant context about your approach. A strong proposal has a distinct angle, a manageable scope and a clear reason to exist beyond a general overview.

Sending a proposal

Use the Contact page and select the editorial option. Please send a proposal rather than a finished article unless the idea has already been discussed. Do not include private information that is not needed to consider the pitch. A submission is not a promise of publication.
